The 7/4/25 Fourth of July Meeting was held at the Pomerantz/Overton Fabulous Bungalow at 2:30. As far as I could tell attendance included: Bob, Bill, Elaine, Carolyn, Cathy, Lee Strong, Rodger Sam L, Judy N, Kim, and Chris. There was no online meeting.

Minute were waived, treasurer’s report waived. Bob said we have money. Not hurting for cash. Sam for Capclave said invites to the program went out. We need a programming
meeting. Cathy for publicity arranged or the sharing of Capclave stuff for conventions. Email Cathy about distribution of fliers. Bill said he arranged for the Capclave gifts. Sam will send Bill the email about shirts. Need to check with Shirin about programming. Cathy volunteered to be Point of Contact for dealing with her. Arrangements were made
for a Capclave meeting.

Rodger for Capclave Future said will send out GoH invites. Committee reports: Sam L. gave the schedule for the committee to talk about SF. Cathy
gave her list of rewards for voting on the WSFA Small Press Award. August 3 deadline.

The award honors the efforts of small press publishers in providing a critical venue for short fiction in the area of speculative fiction. The award showcases the best original short fiction published by small presses in the previous year (2016).

An unusual feature of the selection process is that all voting is done with the identity of the author (and publisher) hidden so that the final choice is based solely on the quality of the story.

The winner is chosen by the members of the Washington Science Fiction Association (www.wsfa.org) and will be presented at Capclave (www.capclave.org), held this year on September 19-21, 2025 in Gaithersburg, Maryland.

My first WSFA Journal was July 1996. I’m doing this one 29 years later. I have been WSFA secretary for 14 years – from 1997-2003, 2010-2013, 2016-2020 – more than any other person (Elizabeth Cullen was secretary for eight years from 1957-1965 and Cathy Green for six years). You’d figure I would have learned my lesson by now, but no.

Treasurer said we had $$$, which is up over same time last year

Trustees: Sam L. said Courtni Burleson and Perrianne Lurie agreed to be co-chairs of Capclave 2027. Rest of the slate was:
