Trustees report: Elections will be held tonight after the meeting

Capclave present, Rodger Burns – not much new to report. Working with Kathi Overton regarding possible test virtual event. Discussion of plans for Baltic on fan tabling for Balticon and Gaithersburg Book Festival (May 21, arrival around 7:45-8:15, event closes at 5:30pm). Courtney said would have a brainstorming meeting in upcoming weeks.

Capclave Future Aaron Pound has secured 2nd GOH. His Guest of Honor in 2023 will be Kameron Hurley and Sarah Pinsker

COMMITTEE To DISCUSS SCIENCE FICTION:

The Committee to Discuss SF will meet this Friday May 6th after the WSFA meeting and the election.

First Friday in May, we will discuss the March/April issue of Asimov’s and Third Friday we will discuss Clarkesworld.

I’ve not seen anything about the deadline for Hugo voting.  If that is still the case in June we will discuss the March/April F&SF on the first Friday in June and then the May/June issue of Uncanny on Third Friday.  Otherwise, the two meetings before the Hugo vote deadline will be devoted to the non-novel categories and then the novel categories.

WSFA will be holding its annual election on Friday, May 6th. Given the virtual nature of our meetings at this time, and given that one or more offices may be in contention, the WSFA Remote Voting Website (https://wsfa.org/rv) will be used by the members of WSFA to cast their votes for these offices. The Remote Voting Users Guide can be downloaded here: The Remote Voting Users Guide This document will give you all the information you need to log into the Remote Voting Website and cast your votes in the election. A separate email will be sent to all WSFA members with their unique Usernames. If you remember the password you set last year, you’ll be able to log in directly. Otherwise, please use the “Reset Password” button on the homepage. This will send a link to the email address we have on file for you … the same email address to which I will be sending your username. This link will give you the information you need to change your password and access the site. If you do not receive an email with your username by the evening of May 3rd, then either you are not currently a paid-up member of WSFA, and you will need to contact Sam S. in order to pay your dues, or the email address I have on file for you is not one you are reading. If you do not receive your information, please contact me at ‘webmaster’ at our website ‘wsfa.org’. I will be able to tell you which of the two situations is occurring so that the matter can be fixed. Please do log in before the night of the election so that any issues can be dealt with in an orderly manner with sufficient time.
