How to get to Capclave 2001
We're recommending that people either fly into BWI and take the SuperShuttle, or take Amtrak to Washington's Union Station and then Metro to the Greenbelt subway stop, where the hotel can send a van to pick you up when you call them at 301-937-4422.

There is now a ride-sharing/room-sharing board. Email your ride-sharing or room-sharing message to capclaveboard@keithlynch.net, and I will post it to the board within 24 hours.
But since some people prefer arriving at another airport, biking, or taking a bus or MARC train, here are some possible alternatives:
Ride to the Greenbelt Metro station on Metro's Green line. This is the closest station to the hotel.
Call the hotel at 301-937-4422, to send a van to pick you up.
Or, if you prefer, you can take a taxi, or you can walk from the Greenbelt station to the hotel in about 70 minutes, or bike to the hotel in about 20 minutes.
(Bikes are allowed on Metro from 10 am until 2 pm on Friday, after 7 pm on Friday, and all day Saturday and Sunday. Bike permits are no longer required.)
Here are the walking/biking directions from the Greenbelt station to the hotel:
Exit the station via the tunnel that goes through to its backside, but do not enter the MARC commuter rail station. You will be at the end of Lackawanna Street. After about a quarter mile, turn right on Narragansett. Turn left on Edgewood when Narragansett ends (after another quarter mile), then right on Rhode Island Avenue almost immediately. When Rhode Island Avenue intersects Route 1 (aka Baltimore Avenue) (at an acute angle) turn left on Route 1, then right on Montgomery Road almost immediately. Take Montgomery Road to its far end. Turn left on Powder Mill Road, and take it across I-95. Immediately past the I-95 ramps, the Sheraton is on your left.
The last trains from the Greenbelt station on Friday and Saturday nights leave at 1:30 am, so even if you're on foot you can stay at Capclave until 12:20 am without missing them. The last train from the Greenbelt station on Sunday night leaves at 11:30 pm, so you'll have to leave Capclave no later than 10:20 pm on Sunday night if you're on foot.
The hotel is served by the 86, C7, R2, R5, Z7, and Z17 buses.

I recommend the 86 bus. The 86 bus runs approximately once per hour from the Prince George's Plaza Metro station on the Green line to "Centerpark Office Park", which includes the convention hotel, less than a one minute walk from the final bus stop on the line. Unfortunately, the last bus leaves the hotel at 9:34 pm Friday, 6:45 pm Saturday, and 5:14 pm Sunday, so it's not as good an option for leaving the con as it is for arriving there.
Adjacent to the Greenbelt Metrorail station is the Greenbelt MARC station on MARC's Camden Line. MARC trains don't run on Saturday or Sunday, or late at night on weekdays, but may be a reasonable way to reach Capclave on Friday, especially for people coming from the direction of Baltimore, Laurel, etc. See http://www.mtamaryland.com/marc/marc_sch_cam_n.htm and http://www.mtamaryland.com/marc/marc_sch_cam_s.htm for schedules. Bikes are not allowed on MARC trains.
Then follow the above directions for getting from the Metrorail station to the convention hotel. Alternatively take Metro to the Prince George's Plaza Metro station and follow the above Metrobus directions.
Take Amtrak to Washington's Union Station. There's a Red Line Metro station at Union Station. Take the Red Line Metro in the direction of Glenmont. Transfer to the Green Line train in the direction of Greenbelt at the Fort Totten station. Exit the Greenbelt station, and follow the above Metrorail directions. Alternatively, exit the Prince George's Plaza Metro station and follow the above Metrobus directions.
I don't recommend the New Carrollton Amtrak station, though I suppose you could take a taxi the eight miles from there to the hotel, if you don't want to ride Metro through central DC. If you are willing to take Metro through DC, you'd do better to remain on the Amtrak train until it arrives at Union Station.
National Airport (DCA) will remain closed indefinitely.
A shuttle bus goes from the BWI Airport to the BWI MARC station. Take a MARC train to Washington's Union Station. There's a Red Line Metro station at Union Station. Take the Red Line Metro in the direction of Glenmont. Transfer to the Green Line train in the direction of Greenbelt at the Fort Totten station. Exit the Greenbelt station, and follow the above Metrorail directions. Alternatively, exit the Prince George's Plaza Metro station and follow the above Metrobus directions.
Alternatively, take the SuperShuttle directly from BWI to the hotel. This is more expensive, and may require a reservation.
Take the 5A express bus to the L'Enfant Plaza Metro station, then take the Green Line train in the direction of Greenbelt. Or take the Washington Flyer To the West Falls Church station, then take the Orange Line train in the direction of New Carrollton, then transfer to the Green Line train in the direction of Greenbelt at the L'Enfant Plaza Metro station. Exit the Greenbelt station, and follow the above Metrorail directions. Alternatively, exit the Prince George's Plaza Metro station and follow the above Metrobus directions.
If you're driving from the airport, take the Dulles Access Road to I-495, then head toward Baltimore/Rockville.
Driving Directions
From North (e.g. Baltimore and BWI): Take Interstate 95 south to Exit 29b marked Calverton. At the first light turn left into the Sheraton's driveway.
From South: Take Exit 27 off of 495 east or west. Proceed north on Interstate 95 towards Baltimore and take Exit 29b marked Calverton. At the first light turn left into the hotel's driveway.
From East: Take Route 50 west to 495 west (towards Silver Spring). Take Exit 27 off of 495 and proceed north on Interstate 95 towards Baltimore. Take Exit 29b marked Calverton. At the first light turn left into the hotel's driveway.
From West: Take Exit 27 off of 495 east or west. Proceed north on Interstate 95 towards Baltimore and take Exit 29b marked Calverton. At the first light turn left into the hotel's driveway.
