Sorry for a lot of comments but I've had to miss two meetings in a row -

First Friday:

>TREASURY: Bob MacIntosh said the treasurer's report is in the [January]

Does this include the bills for Capclave 04?

Is it Mark or Mike?

Actually, she'd been moved to a hospice and I was dealing with family
matters but what Mike said is close enough. She died New Year's Day.

Um, huh? I think that this means that after what is owed to Peggy Rae from
the WSFA bank account from what SMOFCon put into the WSFA bank account
there's going to be about $500 remaining but I'm not sure.

Actually, I do. I just usually only remember announcements at the meeting
so don't send them in beforehand and only rarely do I think worth writing
down in the Journal so I don't send them in afterwards. After all, *I'm*
charmed by my new cat, who's been named Sasha and is currently sleeping on
my feet, and can happily regale people with stories about her. But I don't
think it's necessarily newsworthy except that I'd promised you I'd tell you
her name when she finally had one.

Oh dear, he'll be missed.

Third Friday:

>CAPCLAVE '06: Elspeth wasn't present. Mike Walsh said she had the flu, and
>didn't want to share it with us.

Or maybe Head Cold From Hell, but in any event it's still hanging on and
y'all don't want it. Mainly I'm sick to the point of being stupid, not
even able to write well, and the cats are enjoying my not moving about much
since it means they can sit on me.

Okay, now I'm really confused.

I sincerely hope that there were major cheers at this: it's an incredibly
impressive feat and wonderful for WSFA. We've had our papers wandering
around for years and getting them online will save many of them, not to
mention making them available in a way that people can search more
easily. Keith, I'm sorry that I wasn't there for the announcement so I
could say this publicly and in person.

The idea of letters of support came up online on the BWSMOFs list along
with other ideas about BWSMOFs and was promptly met with a lot of questions
about the mission of the organization. Then the whole thing died and the
latest meeting was canceled because of snow.

From comments on the BWSMOFs list it seems that WSFA did once have a logo
but I haven't heard anything about what it was.

The one that's currently up on the WSFA website (and may have prompted the
hideous mauve background that the site uses) was put together from clip art
by Dan Burgess for a flier. When he found out after leaving WSFA that it
was being used on the website he made noises about getting copyright but
subsided when it was suggested that he discuss such matters with Alexis --
I doubt that we'll ever have any problems there. My own opinion is that
while it will probably always startle me to see it on a hotel proposal as I
recall who created it I'm pretty much fine with that, just think that with
better tools someone could now fix the typeface . . . and can we get rid of
the mauve? Please?

I'm now going to go back to bed, and have missed seeing you all -
