There may be others out there that I haven't found.
WSFA Press: Ernest Lilly
Money:
We have collected $221.52 in checks from sales to booksellers and will be turning that over when next we're at WSFA Meeting. (We're now about $1,800 from break even based on WSFA Journal numbers and minus this amount--rounded).
Results of Capclave ad:
We didn't see any increase in sales from mentioning WSFA Press at the end of the Capclave emailing but will do another plug when the next price increase occurs.
In The Works:
The publications committee is working on a several deals to sell to some big booksellers. We're still negotiating the terms and number of books so won't give any details now. Hopefully, we'll have more solid information by 3rd Friday in January. If it goes through, we expect this sale to put us solidly in the black.
Capclave Past: Bill Lawhorn
Still waiting for info on Baen invoice from Tina. Need inventory of Stuff passed back to WSFA (snacks, etc) . Cash is supposedly all accounted for. Capclave 2010 money supposedly paid
Capclave Present: Gayle Surrette
Capclave Future: Cathy Green
Still looking at contracts. Holiday Inn Gaithersburg seems to be the most promising prospect, with good room rates, but some terms will need renegotiating. Still looking in Silver Spring, for negotiation fodder if nothing else.
New Finance: Tina Abel
We're waiting for their final report.
The Committee to Actually Discuss Science Fiction: Bill Lawhorn
Brought the December Asimov's. They're behind. Discuss Hugo nominations?
Awards: Colleen Cahill
Old business:
Cathy Green talked to John Pomeranz. Idea is get all the records, send them to John, and fill out lots of tax forms.
New business:
Fifth Friday? Cathy will host. WSFAns won't come into the District on Friday night, so she's safe. She'll follow up with the new parking rules for her area. (Music cue – Lincoln Park Pirates)
We need to get Tina Abel (current WSFA Treasurer), Sam Lubell (Official Club Agent), Sam Scheiner (Treasurer, Capclave 2010), and Judy Newton (President) to get together at our bank to make sure everybody who needs signature authority on WSFA accounts has it. Barry Newton will set it up.
Forms, forms, forms! Personal property?

We'll have an election!

Website: Paul Haggerty & Gayle Surrette
They've been workin' on the Website, all the live long day.
They're just about ready to switch over to the Wordpress version of the Website. This should be much easier to maintain, as well as giving the officers an opportunity to bloviate in public.
The WSFA Facebook group needs links back to the Capclave page.
WSFA Press: Ernest Lilly
Sean , Paul & Gail did most of the work.

Letters
From the Editor
A bit of an abbreviated Journal this time, as I have to get Treasurer stuff done. Future Journals will be in the capable hands of Sam Lubell, our incoming Secretary. He's done it before, and he did a good job then. The Journal is in good hands.
